TOTAL DNA test

Who can buy the TOTAL DNA test for
food intolerances?

The TOTAL DNA test is a whole test, which includes analysis of 600 types
of food, 210 types of water and 250 food additives. The TOTAL DNA test is
suitable for individuals with headache, bloating, diarrhoea, meteorism,
dermatitis and all the symptoms linked to food intolerances.

What is the TOTAL DNA test?

The TOTAL DNA test is a nutrigenomic test, which includes:

Food intolerance test for 600 types of food, that are split in food
categories;

Test for 210 types of mineral water and suggests which type of mineral
water is better for your body;

Test for 250 food additives, as colorants, preservatives, antioxidants,
thickeners and stabilisers, used daily in the food production process;

This genetic test also analyses the predisposition to lactose and gluten
intolerance through analysis of variants in the lactase gene (LACT
gene C-13910T) and HLA genes (DQ2, DQ8, DRB1*04), respectively.

Information about the TOTAL DNA test for food intolerances

Nowadays the
new GLUTEN AND LACTOSE INTOLERANCE TEST offers the possibility to know if someone has gluten and lactose
intolerance easily and without suffering: the test is done using a dry buccal
swab and analyses DNA with a repeatability of 100%.

Gluten is a lipoprotein found in cereals, as wheat, spelt, rye, oriental wheat
and barley. We are talking about gluten “intolerance”, which is not a proper
allergy because it causes reactions that are not comparable to typical allergic
reactions (e.g. pollen or dust mites). The incidence of this disease has
increased vertiginously in the last years, not for a real increase - in
absolute value – of the number of intolerant people, but because there are
exams available which can easily diagnose these intolerances. Some peptides
made from gluten (particularly the fragment 31-49 composed of 19 amino acids)
can cause enormous immune reactions in sensitive individuals: particularly when
T lymphocytes do not find extraneous organisms, they attack the cells of
intestinal villi. This pathological condition is called celiac disease.

LACTOSE INTOLERANCE, or lactose malabsorption, is a syndrome
characterized by gastroenteric indispositions that arise after ingestion of
food including this sugar, caused by production deficit of lactase enzyme,
which splits lactose into glucose and galactose, into the intestinal cells of
duodenum. Glucose and galactose are easily absorbed into the intestine. Lactase is an enzyme which catalyses
lactose degradation and is produced in the first stage of life in mammals. It
is not produced during adult life; some adults can synthesize this enzyme
longest. About 30% of humans has the capacity to digest lactose during adult
life.Lactose
intolerance shows the following symptoms: flatulence, meteorism, abdominal cramps,
diarrhoea and weight loss. In case of intestinal deformity, symptoms can be
misleading: beyond flatulence, meteorism and abdominal cramps, there can be
diarrhoea and constipation alternated with big growth of belly dimension.Food
therapy includes reduction or total exclusion of food containing lactose (milk
and derived); mainly cow milk, goat milk, fresh dairy products, ice creams,
cream, sweets and biscuits containing milk. Consumption of food where lactose
is added for keeping the right softness of meat, as ham steak and salami,
represents another risk. Also ready meals, some types of sliced bread and many
drugs can contain lactose. However, there are treated products which are
lacking in lactose, particularly high
digestibility
milk.

How the test works

You will receive the kit and the instructions for doing a proper sample
collection directly at home. Place the buccal swab, which is included in the
kit, into your mouth and rub it on the inside of your cheeks to pick up a
sample of epithelial cells found in saliva. Please fill in the online
questionnaire, informed consent and privacy forms. Send all to the address that
is written in the instructions.
